President Trump postpones Iran strikes for five days

The US President Donald Trump, said that the U.S. government is postponing for five days the military strikes that had been planned against power plants and energy infrastructure in Iran.

In a post published on his Truth Social platform, Trump said that the United States and Iran had held very good and productive talks over the past two days, noting that it is hoped those talks will produce a practical outcome.

“I am pleased to report that the United States and Iran have, over the past two days, held very good and productive talks, in order to reach a complete and final solution to the conflicts between us in the Middle East. Based on the atmosphere and the way these talks are progressing, I have instructed the Department of War to temporarily postpone for five days all military attacks against Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and talks,” President Donald Trump said.

Although President Donald Trump described these talks as constructive, Iranian officials and that country’s state media expressed doubt that a positive result could be achieved.

Nevertheless, President Trump’s decision to postpone the bombings is being seen as a new diplomatic opportunity, and it is expected that in the coming days the outcome of those talks will become clear.
